I spent a very enjoyable Sunday morning reading and rereading Dani DaOrtiz's book on forcing, Freedom of Expression:
https://www.vanishingincmagic.com/magic ... %20weapons.
It is a wonderful book and absolutely unique in its treatment of this subject. It goes way beyond anything I've ever read on forcing and includes some mind-blowing effects. It is not just an explanation of the mechanics of forcing but, more importantly, the psychology of forcing.
Sure, it is expensive but that's good for several reasons.
First, perhaps the price will keep it out of the little hands of the lumpenmagii, still salivating over that trick with chewing gum that some Youtuber just explained. The secrets of magic should not be available to those who cannot appreciate them. Imagine a pig staring at a clock.
Second, it's a deal at this price for the information it contains. This is knowledge and expertise gained over years of performing, so it's actually, given the time involved, mere pennies per minute (and there were a lot of minutes).
Third, if you have ever seen Dani perform, you know he fooled you badly, not once but continually--maybe some clues are to be found within this volume.

I bought the deluxe edition but have never received it. Did anyone else get that version and has it arrived to you ? I’ve tried contacting the GKaps site but they have never responded

Brad, I did not realize there was a deluxe edition. I bought my copy from a magic shop in Canada.
Re: Dani Ortiz Freedom of Expression
I had ordered mine direct from GKaps and it took ages to arrive. It seems they had the books printed in South America and there were lots of problems getting them to Europe for distribution but very little difficulty in getting them to the U.S. direct from the printers.
While Dani's style is extrovert, I've noticed Joe Barry from England has been using very similar psychological principles and techniques for years and Joe's style is very introvert. His Inscrutable DVD set from Alakazam is well worth checking out.
And yes, the book is excellent.

The next edition of my newsletter (coming out in a day or so) will have my review of Dani's book and a seventy-minute interview with him, during which he clarifies and expands on several of the strategies discussed in the book. It will be available in the members-only section. (It is free to sign up.) http://www.michaelclose.com

Why don't we all try spelling the guy's last name correctly!
