There are a number of effects in the literature that have the manipulation of time as a theme. I would think some of these might be able to be changed to have a deja vu presentation.

For instance, Steve Freeman's Time Machine (his version of Roy Walton's Back in Time) could easily be changed to appear as a demonstration of deja vu rather than time travel.

Also, my presentation of John Carney's Sanverted (Carney's reworking in Carneycopia of Sanvert's Moving Up from Best of Friend's vol. I) has at least an "element" of deja vu to it. If you're not famiiar with the effect, the initial phase is that the red aces are shown to be on top of the black aces, the reds are clearly placed below the black aces, and then the red aces are shown to be back on top. This phase can be repeated several times, if desired.

Each time I place the red aces below the black aces, I make it appear as though I've made a mistake: "I have a red ace on top...followed by a second red ace...If I take the two red aces and place them underneath the two black aces...All I have to do is snap my fingers, and...Wait a minute, that's not right...I'll start over again, from the beginning...I have a red ace on top...followed by a second red ace..." and so on, "starting over" like this a couple of times.

You could easily make this a more overt demonstration of deja vu: "Have you ever had the experience of deja vu?...Look, I have a red ace on top, followed by the second red ace. The red aces go underneath the black aces...Have you ever had the experience of deja vu?...Look, I have a red ace on top..." and so on.

I don't know if card routines are what you're looking for, but good luck on your quest!

(OOPS! I just saw that you posted your request in the Mentalism section, so I can see now that this is not what you are looking for...sorry...)

Jay Sankey's version of Triumph could be presented to fit this theme. (I can't remember the name of this one, but I learned it from one of his old videos, "Sankeytized.")

Jay Sankey's version of Triumph
"Back in Time" -- but it's not mentalism... (per thread category)...

Oh, c'mon...

Force the spectator's card. Go through Sankey's routine. At the end, reveal that you think their card looks familiar...reveal prediction.

But you're right, it might be too much like regular card magic.
