What is this? From reading Lassen's page it looks to be 3 nested coins, with some magnetic feature, and the outermost is an expanded shell. Is it a cut-down coin with a magnet, a shell, and an x-shell (with possibly a ferrous shim)?

Maybe so. OTOH, since magnets, shells, half-shells, expanded shells, shims, teflon, flippers, etc. are all more or less common knowledge among anyone who would be willing to spend that much money, it seems kind of coy not to say what the product is.
Thanks much. And when I said "kind of coy", I was referring more to Lassen than to you. Of course, if his blog is any guide, he's able to sell everything he makes with a waiting list so I suppose he doesn't need to explain anything.

It’s a very nice snug vacuum fit. Amazing coin coverage.
