WTD: The Book of Thirty-One by Toto

Postby MagicMustache » February 27th, 2019, 12:29 am

Hello, I am getting together material on the gambling scam of "31". But I am still looking for an obscure book called:
Toto, The Book of Thirty-One , published by Magic of Toto, Glendale California, 1982.
I contacted Byron Walker in California and he never heard of the author or the book. The book was mentioned in Robert Neale's Six Card Swindle.
Thank you...Bruce

Toto is a Japanese magician who has his own magic bar in Tokyo. He works at The Magic Castle once or twice a year.

Different Toto.

The one who wrote The Book of 31 was based in Massachusetts, then Southern California.

I don’t know that he is still around, but there is a copy of the book on sale at H&R Books http://www.magicbookshop.com

Mr. Mustache, I'm assuming you're aware of The Australian Gambling Game of 31 a booklet written by Ken de Courcy and published by the Supreme Magic Co.

I have The Australian Gambling Game of 31 booklet by Ken de Courcy . His interesting twist is a final phase where the cards are FACE DOWN. They take turns picking cards and the magician still wins.
