If you will be at Blackpool, then check with the used magic dealers there. Adrian Harris, Brian Berry and Mel Harvey come to mind.
I was at a Magic Car Boot sale today and someone had for sale in what appeared to be copper. It had the Demon head.

Thanks, Quentin, but I won't be at Blackpool.
Leo, that one doesn't close properly (as noted).

The top one is an old eBay sale that is long over.
The one from Fantasma is made in India, I believe, and is not the original size.

Andy Greget in Arizona might have one. He stocks up on collectible old props. If not he might know somebody that has this.

A friend of mine had one. It was sold to someone in Ottawa, possibly Roy Cottee. John Pert might know:

Brad: Do you have any pointers on where to locate the Jonathan Neal manuscript? A Google search didn't turn up any results. Thanks -- David

Didn't Steve Valentine lecture on this box at the Genii Convention?

Re: Wanted: A Davenport Demon Wonder Box
Just a word or two. I have never posted on the Genii Forum as I could never get my password to work. Richard was kind enough to get me squared away...so kudos to him.
Anyway, yes I do sell the a manuscript on this trick and it is entirely unrelated to whatever Steve Valentine has done. Steve has seen my version and agrees we are on separate paths with this. It is strange that two people both decide to take on this venerable classic after so many years of neglect, but in a world of over seven billion people, I guess anything can happen once in a while.

Re: Wanted: A Davenport Demon Wonder Box
Funny how all of a sudden The Demon Wonder Box has become popular with professionals. They do crop up with reasonable frequency at UK magic auctions and swap meets. Eric Sharp published a great routine for children which includes the extra load gimmick.
Any of Jonathan Neal's articles in GENNI are worth a year's subscription and a welcome respite from the close-up tricks. Likewise Steve Valentine's published works are exceptional in research, detail and professional thinking.
At a recent magic auction in Manchester I acquired a Supreme Master Silk Tube, which is really clever and works on a similar load gimmick to the Wonder Box. It last appeared in a Supreme 60's catalogue. Derek Lever, who has an encyclopaedic knowledge of used magic apparatus said he had only ever seen one of it.

Re: Wanted: A Davenport Demon Wonder Box
Just wanted to let those who want to know more about the Demon Wonder Box routine that I created... that I will be demonstrating and talking about it in my lecture at the Genii Convention. (This will be late Wednesday night!)
Re: Wanted: A Davenport Demon Wonder Box
I've just returned from a lecture tour of Germany. A highlight was visiting the Zentrum Für Zaunerkunst near Münster. Michael Somdermeyer who runs it showed me around this truly magical Hogworts.
Of relevance to this thread is the wide variety of used magic for sale. There's a tray of appx twenty different Wonder Boxes, one of which all four sides drop down. I suspect that all the original Davenport Wonder Boxes were manufactured in Germany.
Michael speaks excellent English and the website is http://stiftung-zauberkunst.de
The centre also has a good range of used magic books, mostly in German. I bought a full set of Marconick's Original magic booklets, early Tony Binarelli Playmagic, Nic Niberco and El Duco lecture notes (all in English).
