WTB: David P. Abbott "House of Mystery"

Postby timlic » July 5th, 2013, 6:19 am

I've been searching everywhere for a copy of David P. Abbott's "House of Mystery" book set (Vol 1 & 2) which was released in 2005 and edited by Teller/Todd Karr.

If ANYONE has it and would be willing to sell it, I'd be extremely grateful!

My email is tim.lichfield@virgin.net

The Penn & Teller lobby gift shop at Rio in Vegas has a bunch of copies for sale of the compiled two-volume edition from Miracle Factory. You may want to inquire at their website.

Thanks Edward. I have heard this, but I'm in the UK.

I've called the Rio several times, but it's like talking to a brick wall! They don't understand what I'm asking about, then put me through to the main gift shop who don't speak good English, who then pass me to someone else, etc etc. Nightmare!

I'm sure John Greget has a copy for sale, but right now he is manning his booth at the SAM convention in Crystal City, Virginia. Try his number in roughly 8 days when he returns home.

Tim,

I too was searching this title out and contacted laura@penn-teller concerning availability. Unfortunately, she informed me yesterday that the book is sold out.

Let it be known that a good copy is up for auction now at Potter & Potter auction and current bid is $125.00

Good Luck

Anyway, still looking...

Thanks for all your help guys!

I knew someone would come up trumps. Just awaiting confirmation, but hopefully all sorted.

Good luck Robert! Can anyone help?

I just looked and Potter & Potter have listed a set (not autographed) as part of their next auction with estimated pricing between $200 and $400. So, I'd say $650 for my set.

I managed to find Vol 1 through ABEBooks.com but am still looking for Vol 2. If anyone knows of a Vol2 or a set for sale ata reasonable price please let me know.

By the way, Vol 1 is great so far.

Thanks.

I think that, perhaps, buying volume 1 on its own might have been a mistake. Most folks won't break up their set to sell you just volume 2.

Yeah, I figured I might have to buy a set to get a Vol. 2 but it was the only thing I could find reasonably priced.

So, I jumped at it to at least get the first part.

I have a Vol. 1 autographed by Teller and a Vol. 2 autographed by Todd Karr in mint condition. Need a new guitar so might sell at right price.
