Tommy Wonder items on eBay

Postby Dick Koornwinder » May 1st, 2010, 9:21 pm

Frank Bemelman, one of the brothers of Tommy Wonder has listed quite a variety of TW items on eBay. http://shop.ebay.com/franktechniek/m.ht ... ksid=p4340
It is worthwhile to study the pictures carefully. You have to realize Frank is not a magician and sometimes the titles are a little bit misleading. As an example the item with the title Two lollypops is a wonderful Paddle trick. What can happen with a sticky lollypop if you put it in your pocket for just a moment or even have the lollypop close to your pocket??

For me the highlight is the item with the title Wooden Box. This is Tommys design for the Jap Box and it is true Tommy was playing with this trick the months before he passed away. If you are not familiar with the trick check: http://geniimagazine.com/wiki/index.php/Jap_Box His plan was to develop a stand-up routine with patter. Starting with the repeatedly production of a silk and at the end the production of some strange objects. In his routine it would be a box without a bottom and only a lid. To have more flexibility for the handling he wanted two holes instead of one in the lid. This was looking a little bit awkward and he decided to make one bigger hole but was not satisfied with that and added the little handle. His solution looks very elegant.

Thanks so much for sharing this, Dick. It's fun looking at the items and knowing what some of the "mystery" items are, like the Sanada gimmick.
Years ago when I moved home from Japan, I shipped a lot of my stuff. One of the boxes was broken into, and someone stole my Dean's Box. The video instructions weren't with it and I've always wondered if the culprit knew what they had stolen.
