Kaufman & Co. Trick Marks

Postby Edwin Corrie » June 14th, 2004, 1:11 am

I posted this recently elsewhere on the forum but there were no replies, so I thought it might be worth another try here.

In the Book of the Month thread on the Derek Dingle book it is mentioned that there is a Dingle trick described on one of the Kaufman and Co. Trick Marks.

This got me wondering. How many of these Trick Marks are there, and is there a full list of them anywhere? Was a particular one always issued with the same book?

And what about the idea of reprinting them all together somewhere or as a series in Genii? No doubt the originals will be collectors' items before long.

I'll see if I can dig some out and list what they were.

Edwin, Richard

The only Trick Mark that I have, came with Gaffed To The Hilt! (2nd Ed)

It's number two in the series and deals (appropriately in the context) with a modification by Jon Racherbaumer of the gimmick used in the routine "Another Departure" from French Pasteboards by Bernard Bilis.

Regards
Lindsay

I'm pretty sure there were three. I think one came in Steel and Silver.

Number one came in Steve Draun's book "Secrets Draun from Underground." it was a Derek Dingle Ambitious Card Routine.

Also must have at least been four because number four came with "Steel and Silver" it was "The Weisenheimer Coin Vanish" combined with "Glass through Table."

Not sure if I have the others. Anyone know what books there other (Two?)were in and what effect were on them?

Best
Joe P.S.
I have the 2nd edition of "Gaffed to the Hilt" but I have no book mark in it :(

Richard would there be any way of getting these?
Thanks.

I have a file folder full of the things around here somewhere.
I'll probably give them away if you send me a self-addressed STAMPED envelope. :)

I only seem to have two, and they are the ones that came with Gaffed to the Hilt and the Steve Draun book as mentioned above. The collector in me would like the others, but getting an SAE (stamped addressed envelope) would be difficult from here. And maybe I should really have bought the books they came in originally.

Thanks to everyone for the information.

Richard,

I'll send a SASE if the offer is still good. I don't have any of the Trick manuscripts although I have all the books that they came in...
Let me know.

Thanks

I can provide all four Trick Marks free of charge to anyone who sends a self-addressed stamped envelope to the Genii office.
