Is this a scam? I sent this fellow $80 for DVD's almost a month ago and have not got them or even an acknowledgement. He doesn't reply to e-mail. I know he got the money because it went through paypal. Tom

I assume the magiccafe thread might have been useful. I was denied access to it and they only do that when something is interesting or useful, such as a heads up for people not to get ripped-off.

That doesn't explain my access to it.

You have to have over 50 posts in the MagicCafe to access the thread mentioned above about John Christopher. Basically, the MagicCafe thread was regarding a user who was advertising some items. Other users chimed in that he had ripped them off, and has an eBay history that is also very bad. Then someone noticed that the exact same items (format, price, etc.) were advertised on the Genii forum by John Christopher (not the name used in the MagicCafe). Speculation was that John Christopher and this other person were in fact one and the same.

Well, if enough of us complain to Paypal maybe they will do something about it. Tom

He accepted the money from paypal (from me) as Ken Kronenberg, his pseudonym on Magic Cafe is kakronenberg.

I'm not sure what's going on here. I paid for 3 items via paypal on Sept. 10th, but have not received the items.

The items I ordered no longer appear for sale on this person's posting. But I still haven't received them.

I've been getting the run-around from the seller for 2 weeks first, no communication, then excuses, then broken promises.

I have emailed this person, apparently a woman named Karen Holmes, that if I do not receive my merchandise by Friday, I will start refund proceedings with Paypal.

I will leave a follow-up post to let everyone know the outcome.

This is a follow-up to my September 21 posting.

I received nothing.

I have advised Richard Kaufman about the situation.

I have suspended this person's privileges. There's little else we can do. For those of you who used PayPal, I hope they can help you recover your losses. If in order to help you PayPal needs to contact me for the information we have in our records, send them my way.

Good luck folks.

Thanks to a little detective work from Jeremy Medows, we have located Ken Kronenberg's mother. I have just finished a phone call with her.
She stated to me that Ken Kronenberg is ill, however she has all of his books (she didn't say anything about DVDs, though perhaps she has those as well) and would be happy to send them to the people who paid for them.
She did not know that he was using the pseudonym "John Christopher" or that he had an account with PayPal.
You may contact her at:
mkroneb1@twcny.rr.com
Please be prepared to provide proof of your purchase.
A word of caution: to those of you who do contact Mrs. Kronenberg, I would suggest that you do NOT offer to buy additional items until you have already received the items paid for earlier.

Thank you Richard. I've written her and sent my paypal receipt and have my fingers crossed, but I'm not holding my breath. Thanks again, Tom

A couple of days I received an e-mail saying that the book was being put in the mail. Today I received the book that I ordered from this person! 2 months late but I have it.

For what it's worth, I have had no more luck getting a reply from <mkroneb1@twcny.rr.com> than from either of the other two e-mail addresses I have. And PayPal says they have no recourse with this person either, as all funds have been withdrawn from the account.

I talked to the mother last week and she said she would send out the book if it was there or send me a refund. She was very apologetic. I truly sympathize what she is going through and wished her the best.

Over the past couple of weeks, I have spoken with the mother twice. The first time she promised to send me a refund with delivery confirmation.

It never came.

The next time I spoke with her she said she thought her other son had shipped my 3 videos. She promised to check with him and send my refund if the videos weren't sent.

Nothing ever came.

I have left three messages for her.

She has never called me back.

I was thinking about filing a small claims case against her son and amybe her. Assuming I won, is there a way I can make them pay?

So what's the secret? I've never received any sort of response from any of the various names and e-mails connected with this situation.

Weeks and weeks ago I made an offer to anyone having problems with that creep to contact me and I'd help locate him. One thing led to another, with Jeremy Meadows eventually getting Kronenberg's mother involved.
