Paris for collectors?

Postby Guest » November 25th, 2007, 3:10 pm

Hello All,
I am fortunate to be travelling to Paris this week on business. As a magic collector, can anyone recommend any unique stores and/or items that would be worth hunting down while I'm in town?
Thanks for any replies,
Mike

Geroges Proust's place has a great museum in the catacombs underground.
I think it is called "acadamy magie" (SP?) The Musea Gravin is fun too
Stay tooned.

No, but do make sure you go to Le Double Fond. Amazing magic venue.

Go to Georges Proust's Museum de la Magie. Folks there will also be able to lead you to other potential spots to visit.

If you have the time, you cna take a train to Blois and see the Robert-Houdin museum.

Do a Google search for the local used bookstores, auction houses, etc. I think the bookstalls are still near the Tower from Houdini's day. Or as mentioned above, go see Bobby Houdin. ;)
Please visit my website.

I buy,sell + trade Houdini, Hardeen items.

It's not like it used to be in either London or Paris. The other dealers snatch up everything very early and then turn it around for absurd prices.

Many thanks for all the suggestions!!
Sadly, my trip is cancelled and will occur sometime in the future.
I've got the info stored in my blackberry and will use it then.
To all, thanks again!
Mike
