Scarne's "Power of Thought" and "Think a Card" were sold as separate manuscripts. In the former it says that a non-sleight version appeared in "Scarne on Card Tricks", although the manuscript version doesn't really have any sleights to speak of either. Not sure who published them, as no indication is given - mine came from Magic Books by Post in England a few years ago. They still have "Think a Card", "Scarne on Magic Tricks" and "Scarne on Card Tricks" (http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/magicbooks/).

Charles (Chuck) Windley was a goof friend of Scarne and told some great stories when he did a lecture here several years ago. The last address I have for him is:

Charles Windley
752 Grandby Street
Norfolk, Va. 23505

This was for subscribing to his magazine Backstage.

If any of you guys know anything about him, tell him he still hasa a fan in Texas.

Scarne was also profiled in the popular press.

e.g. Life magazine June 8 1942. Scarne provides cautionary advice to new recruits.

Plugging his name into eBay's search engine will periodically turn up such references.
