There's a lot of hidden gems in the George Blake books.

George was in the first world war. There were 800 men in his group that went out. Only six came back. The day they returned one of them was killed by a tram. George was gassed in the war, hence his pale pallor. I still have a couple of his original haunted hanks where the gimmick had a hinge making the silk move in two places.

There's also a fair share of hidden gems in the various articles that George Blake contributed to MAGIGRAM over the years.

In addition, George Blake's writing style was very 'reader friendly' - clear, concise, and engaging.

Blake was a MAJOR influence in my style... DARN -- I wish his material was not being reprinted... :p
