I have come across a few items made by the Embree Manufacturing Co. One is a magic set called "Senior Magic Set" and the other items are called "Kopeefun" magic copy paper kit dated 1940. The magic set has 20 different tricks all packaged in individual red and white boxes. Anyone have any info on these items? Thank you, Roy McIlwee, Scranton, Penna.

There are a number of different size Senior Magic Sets, most of which have simple contents made of paper, wood, and plastic.
I had a Kopee-fun set when I was kid--terrific toy. Actually still have it!
Not much value to the items, but fun to have.

Without climbing up into my attic I have one also

if this is a book with face outlines and parts

with are lifted out of the book with a wax psper

and ribbed onto another piece of paper. It

would also do the comics out of the newspaper.

They were sold by pitchmen in stores and fairs in

the late fortys and early fiftys and I'm sure

later.........Mike

The pitch for Embree's Kopeefun (and several related Kopeefun newsletters) are included in "The Compleat Pitchman" by Don Boles, copyright 1972 by Pinchpenny Press. The pitch starts out:

'Twas the night before Christmas
And all through the house,
Not a creature was stirring-
Not even a mouse.

The stockings were hung
By the chimney with care,
With the hope that Santa Claus
Would put Kopeefun there.

The pitch sheets include lots of tips on how to make the product move.

Hope this helps.
