Dushecks's Series of books

Postby Rennie » November 13th, 2003, 8:52 am

I currently own Steve Dusheck's coin magic & mental magic books. I am in the process of purchasing his card magic and thumb tip magic books. I would like to know are the 4 books I mentioned the complete series or are there more ?

There are five books in this outstanding series.

Book #5 is Dusheck's Close-up magic.

Oliver,
Thank you for the info. Now does anyone have it and are they willing to sell it ?

Not sure if it's considered part of the "set", but there's also the "Famous Quotations" force book.

Later.....

Steve,
I did see that book on E-Bay and do not think it is part of the set, but think I will bid on it as I am a Steve Dusheck from from the 70's and it sounds interesting. Do you by any chance have it ?

Steve,
My mistake, should have said " I am a Steve Dusheck FAN from the 70's "
I thought I proofed that one..

Rennie,

I do have it, along with a lot of his other items. I strongly feel Steve belongs in the inventor's hall of fame, but this just falls in the so-so category, as far as I'm concerned. I'm sure in the right environment it would play and could be a fooler. It's just not "best of class" like Ringer, Wunderbar, Confounding Coffer (I believe) etc. etc.

Hope this helps.....

Steve

Steve Hook,
I knew you were teasing, but I hate when I miss something like that. Thanks for pointing it out.

Steve Mills,
Thanks for the mini review and may have to see it before getting it.I did not think it was part of the series. Steve Dusheck was very prolific during the 70's but heard he was always getting ripped off by someone. Too bad as it is our loss.

Could someone please describe the effect of Ringer? I've heard a lot of praise for it on this forum and others but I still don't know what it is.

Ryan-

"Ringer" is a very, very clever borrowed ring-to-keyring effect. Very direct and resets automatically. Best of the ones I have seen/used.

Hope this helps.

I, too, am a Steve Duscheck fan from way back. I have a lot of his stuff and it's all good, usable material. I actually have his book series (but will not sell...sorry Rennie :-)

His stuff is not only clever, he's also a damn nice guy. Does anyone know if he has a website or email. I don't see him on the web at all. I'm surprised since I think he'd sell a lot of stuff direct to the customer if he had a web presence. It seems you can only get his stuff through dealers or ebay. I'd love for him to have a website to purchase stuff direct from him. That way we'd know we're getting it from the originator.

Steve lectured in November of last year.

He can be reached both via AOL and by regular mail.

He lives in at the same place as years ago, in PA, has a price list for available books and items. An email to sdusheck@aol.com could get things started.

Hi Bob,
I finally got all the books in the series, and think they are great. I also managed to pick up a video he made at home demonstrating his products. It is really interesting and at one point in the filming his little girl walked in and he introduced her..The video as mentioned is not professionally shot, but I would not part with it as it is Steve at his best...
