The Colditz Conjurer - new book

Postby Kent Blackmore » September 19th, 2022, 7:47 pm

I frequently get involved in somebody's search for information about the history of a magician, whether a family member or a professional magician of interest, or some person who had a connection with a notable magician. I've enjoyed having some correspondence with James Green, as he researched for his new book.

James has been trying to make the connection between an Australian WWII pilot and sometime magician, Vincent "Bush" Parker, and his possible time as an assistant to Les 'The Great' Levante. Ultimately the link has been quite elusive, but Green details his search in his newly-published book, "The Colditz Conjurer". If you love wartime stories of heroism and escape, combined with magicians and Australian adventurers, this should be the book for you! Now available.

That looks a truly superb read.

I'll have to try Waterstones Book Shop in the Town, to see if they can order it in.

I won't touch tax-dodging, employee-exploiting Amazon with a barge pole.

Thanks for the promo Kent. If anyone wants a sneak preview of Vincent 'Bush' Parker's story, I've added an entry for him on Magicpedia:

Or, for some of my earlier writings about Parker, go to my Magic at War blog and search for 'Parker'. There are three blogs on there about him:

The book has been released via Amazon, but it is also registered as a title with Nielsen Books, so it should be available to order from "all good bookshops" but I'll need to check.
