Barnes & Noble is advertising that only its edition of the forthcoming book, David Copperfield's History of Magic, will include an extra chapter about Orson Welles:

No doubt Copperfield collectors will seek out all the variants, but this would seem the one to get for completeness.

I can verify that the B&N version will have an additional chapter (and I ordered it!)

Unfortunately, at the moment B&N doesn't ship to a few foreign countries, including the UK... This is very upsetting for many collectors in this part of the world... While we hope that current US regulations will change before the book is published (the reason of this is Covid... https://help.barnesandnoble.com/app/ans ... l-shipping which really doesn't make any sense!), if American magicians could help European collectors interested in this book, I'm sure many will be grateful!

I would assume a British edition would get published.

Yes, it will be published in the UK - it can pre-ordered on Amazon’s UK site.
However there are no branches of Barnes & Noble in the UK therefore the extra chapter presumably won”t be available here.

Bummer!
That said, there are very few branches of Barnes & Noble remaining here! The two that were near me (within driving distance) have both closed. There are no bookstores near me.

I'm not surprised. Washington DC isn't really much of a book town

We used to have MANY bookstores here, both big and small.

I have already pre-ordered the "trade" edition of the book, on Amazon.co.uk, when it was first announced, as many friends did, but would also like the B&N one. Normally, it would not be a problem: in normal times, it could be ordered online and shipped to the UK, but now the UK (and Italy, and many other countries...) are not available in the list of shipping countries at B&N.

Richard, when I attend Genii Convention, one of the main stops for me is B&N at the side of Red Roof. When was the third convention, a friend asked me for a B&N Star Wars special edition and he ordered it by mail because he didn't want to take the risk I wouldn't find it at the store. We ordered some other books, some of them were considerable at lower price on line than in store. I thought if this happen frequently, local stores will close soon
And about Copperfield book, I can order the regular one at Amazon, but not the B&N edition

Thanks for the heads up, Dick! I just cancelled Amazon and ordered the B&N edition.
