I'm seeking information on Shahade "Shady" Mansur, who did mentalism and readings in the 1930's and beyond. He sometimes performed as, "Rajah Roma".
But he was also known to claim to be "Mel-Roy", "Marjah", and "Rajah Raboid", ("As heard on the radio!") when performing in different spots.
His life seemed be be a "colorful" one, with some twists and turns.
He died in Palestine, Texas in 1971 His wife Margaret died in 2013

Re: Shahade "Shady" Mansur
I had a great-uncle named Shahade. He was originally from Syria; I believe it was a fairly common name in the Levantine. In America the name was often Anglicized to Charles for some reason.

Diego, is this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/RARE-Rajah-Raboid-Flyer-wr/383235434258?hash=item593a9ca712:g:BJkAAOSwHGZdtbBZ the same person?
Or did Shady copy him?

Re: Shahade "Shady" Mansur
The original Rajah Raboid, was a different person than Shady, and that is an original Raboid flyer.
Shady's M.O. was among other things, to advertise himself as one of the better known mentalists like Raboid, ("You heard him on the radio.") in the smaller towns, and do his mental act and/or give private readings for those with questions/problems. Back then, it was harder to say or prove, that he WASN'T Raboid or whoever, and to many, a guy with a turban looks like a guy with a turban.

Rather surprising to see the Raboid flyer that was referenced from ebay, got 4 bids and closed at $89.00 today. Rather high but you never know what people decide they want and how badly they want it...who knows?

Well as my daughter reminds me, "The heart wants what it wants".
This may be his grandson if you want to get in touch.

What is the family relation that makes you Shahade’s great nephew?

Re: Shahade "Shady" Mansur
My Shahade was not Shahade Mansur. I mentioned my great uncle because I thought it might help to serve to find out the magician's country of origin and perhaps Anglicized name. My Shahade was my father's mother's brother.
