Magician sighting

Postby Jack Shalom » July 4th, 2019, 1:26 pm

So the missus and I are taking in our doctor mandated dose of Mr. Ed on television, when who turns up as one of a pair of card sharks, but Jay Ose. He does a one-handed dovetail shuffle, but is outwitted by Wilbur, working in cahoots with Mr. Ed, as they trade signals back and forth. Mr Ed provides great shade by disguising himself as a wall-mounted moose trophy.

Love it! Can't beat a good confederate - Especially one with good horse sense. [*Insert groans here ________________]

BTW, I use that triple f _ l _ _ cut credited to Jay Ose all the time. It's a winner!

Lou Derman (who also had a column in The Linking Ring) was one of the writers on the show. The final episode of
"Mr. Ed", had Wilbur going to a magic convention and performing was Harry Blackstone, Sr., Dick Zimmerman, and Lou Derman.

It wasn't the final episode, but an episode from season four entitled "Ed the Shish Kebab".

Jay also appeared in another "Mister Ed" episode..called, if I remember correctly: "Ed, The Zebra".
Jay played a farmer-type role.
