Radio/Mail Mentalism in other countries?

Postby Diego » April 3rd, 2019, 4:37 pm

Up until the mid-1930s, when the FCC and Postal Authorities shut them down, a number of mentalists. (Rajah Raboid, Mel-Roy, Ralph Richards and others) would answer questions over the radio, that listeners mailed in, and then offer to privately answer a mailed-in question, for those who would order their book or horoscope chart, in the process.

Some later used the Mexican super power "Border Stations" to stay out of U.S. jurisdiction.

Does anyone have information of mentalists in other countries broadcasting over the radio, doing the same thing: Answering questions to pitch their books, charts, astrological readings, etc? (This could be either local mentalists in their country or U.S. mentalists wanting to operate in another country, without interference.)

Also during the 1990's when "Psychic Hotline" informercials were broadcasting in the U.S., if similar infomercials were also broadcast in other countries as well?
