I was following right along until you referred to George White as "colored".

Reminds me of when George Wallace was governor.

The term may be old-fashioned, but the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People still uses it. (Founded by W.E.B. DuBois - not exactly the George Wallace type.)

I have no objection to the word "coloured" providing it is spelled properly in the British manner with the letter "U" included.
