My interest in magic started 40 years ago by the man my aunt married whose last name was Joaninni. He was an amateur magician and photographer in his younger days and spoke of his friendship with Cardini. He passed away several years ago and my brother came into possession of several of his negatives. He has many of Cardini including some of him performing.
One particular negative was noted "Cardini, Vernon and Winn". He's posted the negative for sale on Ebay. A Ebay user emailed him to tell him the person in the photo was not Vernon.
I'm hoping someone might be able to identify the individual with Cardini. The auction is still up but the description will be changed. Thanks for any help.

Courtney,
The middle person looks like Ade Duval. I don't know who the person on the right is but he looks familiar.

I'm not so sure about Jack Gwynne. I thought Jack's nose was straighter.

Not my place to tell your family what to do with its belongings, but I hope your family at least retains high quality prints of all of these negatives, before scattering them to the four corners of the earth.
Respectfully submitted ...

For one week only: Cardini, The Gwynnnes, Ade Duval, Val Voltaine and Fred Keating in "The Congress of Magic," wrote Billboard magazine.
May 7 1942. Loew's Capital Theatre, Washington.
David Charvet's Jack Gwynne bio has photos from the cast party.
Ade Duval certainly seems correct & Jack Gwynne's moustache apparently dissolves in profile.
Hopefully others will offer a more expert opinion and Courtney will unveil more of these images.

Or, perhaps, Jack Gwynne didn't have a mustache.

Thank you all for the very helpful information.
Regarding magicam's comments. Yes, my brother will keep a set of the photos and I'll cherry pick a few, I'm sure. Besides the magic photos my Uncle took numerous photos of politicians and events of the time (circa 1950s) so it's been fun seeing these as they are discovered.
Also, there were a number of more formal pictures of Cardini with his wife. Cardini's decedents have been contacted and they will be given a set of these pictures as well.
