Soo / Robinson Autograph

Postby Kevin Connolly » June 23rd, 2003, 8:22 pm

Hi All!

Does anyone have an image or know of a source for a William Robinson, aka Chung Ling Soo, autograph? I've had Soo autographs over the years, but never an item signed as Robinson. I picked up a Herrmann book and it was inscribed by Robinson to Charles Bertram. I'm figuring since Robinson/Soo worked as an assistant to Herrmann, it's probably is the real deal.

I just want to verify the authenticity of the autograph before I trade or sell it. If you have any info to share, please drop me a line.

Thanks In Advance,
Kevin Connolly ;)

Pete,

I would guess the price would between $105 and $133.30 per. One just sold 10 days ago for $135.80 on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... tegory=427

Now if your letterhead said "have to buy more gun powder" the sky would be the limit.

Best Always,
Kevin

Kevin, there is a facsimile autograph of Robinson's on the title page of The Silence of Chung Ling Soo and there are some letters he wrote in longhand reproduced later in the book. If you don't have this wonderful resource from The Miracle Factory on your bookshelf, I'm sure Todd would send you a digital image of these plates.

Michael,

Thanks for the info. I have the book, but the problem is that is in one box, in a group of 150+ boxes of magic books! I just put an addition on the house to house the Houdini items and had to pack it all away. The Soo autographed book came to the surface first and I figured to start asking now.

Thanks Again,
Kevin
