Error while printing from Magic Magazine

Is there a known problem with printing/downloading from digital back issues of Magic? I am trying to download a page from the October 1996 issue, but it gives an error. This happens in both FireFox and Chrome (latest versions).

Not a clue. Screen grabs, please, along with all details. Send to me at moobooks@verizon.net

Hello,
I am encountering the same error. Yesterday, there was just broken links to the page image and no "clip" box. Today there is a blank image and the clip box is visible and can be adjusted over the blank image. When I clicked the "download/print" button I got the following error text, which may be helpful? (BTW I am using a chrome based browser and have no problems printing Genii pages)

TAERROR : file "magicmagazine.cfg" does not exist!

I can print the Genii issues with no problem.

However, have not had success in printing any pages from MAGIC magazine for a long time. It always errors out or give me blank screens.

Tested with latest versions of MS Edge and Firefox.

If the page of magic is a single graphical element (i.e. text grouped with photos) you can print it to a pdf or printer. If the elements are broken out (i.e. images as single object or grouped as all images vs the text as another image) you can only "print" each element at a time. The latter is really common (many different objects on a page). The full page printing (which works great for the genii issues and is what's truly useful) seems super borked for the Magic issues. Just gives me blank pages.

I would suggest doing screen grabs.

That's been my backup and it' hasn't been a very good one. (i.e. dependent on monitor, low res, and not great with small text).

Returned to print a routine I found on the conjuring archive. Printing a page of Magic magazine is still broken, alas!

It has never been fixed. I'm experiencing the same issue.

The tech company who does the archive for us is not able to duplicate the issue of not being able to print pages from MAGIC magazine. If you don't mind, can you provide a detailed description of the procedure which is failing so I can pass it onto them? Email me at moobooks@verizon.net and include the type of computer (PC or Mac), browser, etc. Thanks.

There are two ways to print, and the most obvious way doesn't work.

I have been able to print fine once I'm able (sporadicially) to bring up the correct option on the right page, but it's a major pain in the ass to consistently do that.

If I figure it out, I'll report back.

The preferred way to print (whole pages) starts with selecting this option.

And when you click it to print, it only brings up blank pages. (Note, this works fine for issues of Genii, but not issues of Magic).

This is the expected behavior (working correctly to print from Genii Issues).

Ditto with me. I'm on Windows 11 64-bit, and I've tried it with several browsers, including Chrome, Opera, and Brave.

Thanks Chris for documenting the issue. Same problem for me. The page to be printed/downloaded is always blank. I'm using Chrome regularly now. Chrome works properly for Genii but not Magic.
I should add that sometimes I get a little image in the upper left hand corner which I believe is the "broken link" icon.

Printing Genii has no problems at the moment that I know. Current issue is that Magic magazine exhibits the problem. Pages do not show.

I just did a test from the Magic August 2016 (Bannon article) and when I attempted the download/print I got this

TAERROR : file "magicmagazine.cfg" does not exist!TAERROR : file "magicmagazine.cfg" does not exist!

Clearly a script error of some sort.

I know it but in the other post I explained it is possible to print a page from Magic but the method is complicated because pictures are separated from text. It will be better if we can print a page as we can do in Genii.

You should now be able to download pdfs of single pages and then print them out.

Seems to be working fine now. Tried several pages from magic magazine and they seem to be coming up as full downloadable pages now.
