Magic Magazine

I noticed last night that at least some of the Magic Magazine issues are now showing up in the IPad app. Don't see them on the web page yet.

For some reason the company doing this for us is having problems getting MAGIC to show up.
Yes, some are in the app, but I did not want to make the official announcement until all 25 years are up.

As far as I can tell, not a single issue is showing up in the android app. Perhaps they're only showing up on apple devices?

I can access all issues, effortlessly, on my iPhone. I can also access all issues on my Kindle, but it is quite a bit more cumbersome switching between issues, and switching between Genii and Magic. Nonetheless, I do have access to all.

More issues of MAGIC are now showing up on my Apple devices, but it's still missing many issues.

I have neither iPhone nor Kindle, and see no sign of MAGIC in my desktop browser.

Been looking forward to it since its announcement last year...

No, it doesn't appear in the desktop browser and I have no idea why. Can't get a straight answer out of the company, either. Argh.

We feel bad complaining to you.

Can we complain directly to the company?

No. Only I have access to the company, and I do complain regularly, and more recently quite vocally.

It was on for a while, but was too buggy and I had it turned off.
The company has been working steadily in improving the speed and I've seen a test site where things look to be well on the way to success. I hope that access to MAGIC will be back up in a week or two.

As Martin Gardner pointed out, if you move the letters in HAL one space to the right you get IBM. I'll call them and that will give me a chance to complain about my IBM PCjr: the touch screen has never worked.

Hi Mr. Kaufman,

I inform you that Magic Magazine May 2001 has only the first three pages visibles.

Phillipe, how did you view the issue of MAGIC? Was it on your browser or through the app? Was it Android or Apple if using an app?

I just verified the issue (online archive).

Can only see the three first pages of this issue (Billy McComb on the cover). Other issues seem to work fine.

I recently stumbled upon the archive of MAGIC Magazines, and it seems to be functional. On FireFox on my Mac, I clicked on the most recent Genii issue, then clicked on ISSUES on the right. You'll see a bunch of Genii covers with the words "Genii Magazine" on top. But it's a drop down menu; click on it and you can switch to MAGIC.

Just letting people know because even though it may have been functioning for a while, like me I'll wager there were people who didn't know it was now active, or how to access it.

Richard, if you look at this thread, you'll see that there was never a definitive announcement that it was now working properly on all platforms. And it's easy to overlook the dropdown menu. I suspect some, as I did, have only just become aware of how to access it. Anyway, thanks for setting this up--it's a very valuable resource and another great reason to subscribe.
