Gene Maze undergoes open heart surgery

Postby pduffie » September 20th, 2005, 10:25 am

I received the following information in emails from Robin Haskell, a nephew of my friend Gene Maze.

===============================

I am writing to inform you that Gene underwent 5-way open heart by-pass surgery on Friday Sept 16th, and is stable at present.

He is at Marian Medical Center located in Santa Maria, Ca.

Currently, Gene is in the Critical Care Unit at Marion Hospital but the prognosis is fair to good. He has kept his humor throughout the whole ordeal and has kept the staff / nurses entertained.

He has no phone capabilities in the CCU but a card or note of encouragement would be appreciated all around.

Thank you for responding and thank you for passing this on to anyone that you believe would want to know his current condition.

I just received an email from Gene. He's home now - quit smoking - and hopefully on the road to a full recovery.

Mr R

Might I offer you a tip? Spam 'robots' look at websites all day long trying to find:

SOMETHING@SOMETHING.COM

and then adding that address to spam lists.

To avoid this, it's common to write an email address like this:

SOMETHING [AT] SOMETHING [DOT] COM

The robots cannot read this and you do not get spammed (as much!)

Hope that helps and if I am being patronising, please forgive me :)

Any current news on Gene's condition? One of the most kind and unselfish people I ever met.
