Missing...hoping for the best

Postby Guest » August 7th, 2003, 8:01 pm

I just received this email from Lee Asher's mom...the poor woman seems distraught...

Dear all of Lees friends,

I wanted to let everyone know Lee has
gone missing. He was last seen getting
the mail a few days ago. Lees father
and I believe its the work of the
Eso-Terroritsts; an international band
of card thugs. There is nothing we can
do but pray Lee gives them what they want.
I have a feeling its his Losing Control
they are after. I told him not to tell
anyone about it, its too good. Now he
faces one of the biggest dangers of his
life. Please go to www.LeeAsher.com for
more details.

Sincerely,

Lees Mom
As you can see, this is a serious matter and should be treated as such. I have already alerted the proper authorities: Lee's father, several of his friends from high school, an old girlfriend of his from France and now you, dear friends... someone should let Thomas Wayne in on this, as I know how close he really was to Lee.

I'll light a candle in his memory and hope for the best...

Rosie

Hello,
I am on vacation right now and just checked my email and saw that email from Lee Asher's mother... then I checked his website. For those of you who didn't get this email or haven't seen his website yet, check it out at www.leeasher.com

For those who can't wait till the webpage loads to find out what this is about I will summarize it...

Lee Asher is releasing a CD of one of his many BRILLIANT card controls. The CD is all about his 'Losing Control' (which has more applications than just a control...) and from seeing all his other material I am sure that Lee will go in depth on how to PROPERLY execute this sleight. I have seen Lee do it several times and it fooled me very badly. Not only did it fool me, but it fooled the 30 other magicians standing all around him at magic camp last summer....thats right, this move is 'angle proof' and audience tested, and it works REALLY well. I don't think I can do justice to the move just by posting up I these words, so I would highly suggest that you go to Lee's website and at least download the clips and watch them. You will enjoy what you see. Of course Lee doesn't show too much of what the move looks like or what all it can do....that is going to be a surprise. But please do trust me when I tell you that if you buy this CD when it is available, you will be fooled, impressed, and proabably will add this to your repertoire.

Check it out, you will not be disappointed.
Enjoy!

Doug.

....now I better go practice and save up some money to buy this CD!

Yes Doug...

I am sure its a wonderful DVD. But what about poor Lee!! You are utterly heartless! Can't you understand the gravity of this situation??

After that heartwrenching letter, I was nearly in tears myself. Fortunately, I have a friend who knows someone who has a friend at the police department. And this person assures me that these cases sometimes end up with the safe return of the victim. In this case, wouldn't all of us be the victim?

To put out a few famous calls to battle:

"Mrs. Peel, we're needed!" - John Steed

"Lock and LOAD!" - USMC, Army and anybody else who carries a firearm

"It's CLOBBERIN' TIME!" - Ben "The Thing" Grimm

"Shai Dorsai!" - Gordon R. Dickson (esoteric, but hey! I'm a member!) :p

Let those who do evil beware! The forces of righteousness and good shall triumph, even in the face of such a serious Loss of Control!

It is a sad day for sure... Lee was booked to lecture last night in Cincinnati. We all decided to have a Lee Asher Tribute Ceremony instead, due to the kidnapping. We all watched Five Card Stud while eating Lee's recipe for Corn Bread.

I am now posting a reward for Lee: One bottle of Golden Touch Hand Lotion and a deck of Jerry Nugget cards.

If the kidnappers are reading this, please return Lee unharmed. However, if you have to harm him, just be careful of his right hand- that's his dealing hand because he's a lefty...

Thank you,

I'll double Ryan Swigert's reward for the kidnappers to KEEP HIM.

Then I can keep The Losing Control to myself...

It just seems to get worse! We just got another message. It seems the terrorists have upped the ante! The Losing Control! Is there no end to the evil? Too prove that poor Lee is still with us, some more footage was sent. On the good side, the control looks great. Good to see his fingers are intact!

Our prayers are with him....

Thank heaven you're back safely, Lee! But are you saying that if my operating system is Windows 98, then I'm s.o.l.? :(

Lee,

Glad to see the Forces of Evil have once again been thwarted by clean moves and good conjuring skills (not to mention a killer corn bread!).

And thanks for making this critter Mac-friendly. Those of us who do Mac stuff (you know, graphics geeks, PhotoShoppers and video editors mostly!) appreciate it.

Well, sort of.

You DID tip material that the ordinary magician should NOT play with! ;)

Kind regards from another Lee,
