Yeah - I've tried calling and emailing...nothing back. Hopefully he and the family blew town before "Ivan" does.

We, on the other hand, have been taking in evacuees into Casa LeBlanc, since it appears the compound in Lafayette, LA will sustain only winds.Originally posted by Richard Kaufman:

I hope, anyway.
Andrew and Lili taught us along the gulf coast of Louisiana to be skeptical until the storm actually hits landfall. Until then, it's a wing and a prayer.

Speaking of surviving storms, has anyone heard from Lance Pierce or Bill Malone in Boca Raton? That area sustained some damage a week ago from Hurricane Frances, and I was wondering if anyone had heard from either of them.

To give you an idea of how big a deal this storm is, take a look at this satellite photo:

Note the other storm, currently in the Atlantic, but on it's way behind Ivan.

Re: Roc
I was with Lance and Bill this week in Vegas at LVMI. Lance lost electricity for awhile but otherwise both he and Bill made out okay. Also spoke to Jim Swain and Chad Long; Jim hasn't had any trouble yet, Chad lost electric for about a week or more but is otherwise okay. Lots of flooding threatened where Chad lives, but so far, so good. This is all as of yesterday (Wednesday).Originally posted by Rick Schulz:
