Just got an email from one of David Blaine's advisors that he did my "Kaps Ring on Wineglass"... does anyone know if this show has aired? Where, when? Is there a tape or DVD available?
Plan to market this later in year.
With Kaps and Blaine using it... it can't hurt the publicity.
Stay tooned...
Thanks Blaine for doing my trick

Re: Thanks Blaine for doing my trick
Mr. Biro, at risk of sounding ignorant, I am not familiar with this effect.
Perhaps you could give a brief explanation of this illusion for me?
With respect,
Elliot (Elwood).

Re: Thanks Blaine for doing my trick
In the mid-1970s I worked out an effect and gave it to Fred Kaps. He subsequently did this on TV as a feature in Europe and in England.
Basic effect: Borrowed ring tied on cord, covered with ring box, it vanishes. Fred couldn't find it...
He is at a bar setting, and offers the two people watching his magic a drink.
He pours the lady a drink, then ask the gentleman what he wanted...
He picks up the bottle and the glass and the man's ring is seen on the stem of the glass. It (th glass) has to be broken to give him the ring back.
Any borrowed ring.
I have not seen the presentation that David Blaine used, but his tech advisor, Michael Weber, emailed me to tell me that they used "your ring on glass trick."
Hopefully, later this year, I will market a newer improved method that can be done by anyone, in a stand up parlour/stage situation.
Thanks for your inquiry.
(Don't ask when available, I will announce it)

Re: Thanks Blaine for doing my trick
He did do a ring on beer bottleneck type effect, but that may have been different. This was on Frozen in Time.
Hope that helps
