I think I must be the only magician in history who did an act consisting of card tricks only in a circus ring! Here you are! It was a long time ago!

That's a wonderful photo (and, I am sure, memory). The people of all ages look like they are having fun and enjoying themselves. I have often been offered opportunities to appear at the circus. Well, the Side Show, anyway.
On a related note, I understand that the elephants at the Barnum & Bailey Circus recently stomped off the job and are on strike. They got tired of working for peanuts.

Murray the famous escapologist told me that if he ever had his time over again he would only work in the circus. I asked him why. He responded "Because circus people are so down to earth"

Apart from the bloke who used to get fired from the cannon.
Apparently, he used to look down on people at times......but inevitably came down to earth in the end.

The human cannonball was a big shot. I never met a man of his caliber.

Not to mention the trapeze artists, tightrope walkers, and stilt walkers. The last thing in the world they want is to come down to earth. Was Murray hallucinating when he made his comment?

Possibly! Murray used to like his drink!
Re: I once ran away with the circus!
I found this video of the self same circus I performed in . Alas I am not in it. However there is another magician there who was quite a character. He passed away not too long ago and was the King of the Flea Circus. His name was Eddie Diijon.
