I don't think his mobile is working, and I'm not sure the hospital is too happy with people phoning the ward as the phone is in the next room (if you can get through, and anyone answers).

I know he's had a couple of visitors today, but I'm not sure of his condition now.

Mark will have an additional three visitors late tonight. If you close your eyes and imagine him laying in his bed you can almost hear Mark uttering 'Bah, Humbug'.

Are you referring to the 3 wise guys?

Ian, thanks for this information. I was going to call the hospital but am now glad I didn't given there's apparently only one phone in the ward and the last thing the staff needs is a ringing phone when they're trying to care for their patients.

Years ago I did a parody of Mark as Scrooge. Jolly Roger was the Ghost of Christmas Past and Paul Pacific was Tiny Tim. I don't recall the rest of the characters. I think I may still have it (comic) somewhere.

Mark is like Tinkerbell. Instead of clapping to bring him back to life all we have to do is talk about him. Good or bad makes no difference to Mark just as long as he is at the center of it all.

So he will be back and not too happy about the diet changes his doctor will want him to make; being that Mark can hardly boil water and cooking a healthy meal is beyond him, and he will state that he is too old and set in his ways to change.

Based on interviews I have seen, it appears that Performer is good friends with the owner of Browser's Den of Magic in Toronto (I believe his name is Jeff Pinsky) 416-783-7022. He may have some information on Performer's status...

Someone elsewhere posted a video from Sunday and he was sitting up checking messages on a phone. Seemed like he was good.

Tomorrow. I have been in hospital an entire week and feel sick and exhausted. However, I have reason to believe that I am still alive.

If you look around and everything is green with a flashing coffee cup logo, you'll know you're in hell.

Best of luck to you, Mark!

Hospitals are horrible places. So I hope you get out of there soon.

You sold me a Svengali deck when I was 7. So you have already achieved magic immortality whatever happens! :-)

I am out of there but still feel pretty rough. I am not out of the woods yet. Just out of the hospital.

Great news. Get plenty of rest, Mark, and here's hoping you're back to feeling great in the near future.

The nurse just came to my house. She is going to come every day it seems.
You know socialised medicine is pretty good when I think about it. A week in hospital and a nurse visiting me every day would probably cost me thousands of dollars in the Excited States. I have always said that it is the doctors that kill you but at least they kill you for free in Canada!

What has really upset my system is how kind and caring the nurses and doctors seem to be. I have had more of a week of it. It is such a drastic change from all the crooks and vagabonds I have surrounded myself with for decades. I don't quite know how to handle it.............

Something happened to me in there. I can't explain it. I was nearly dead from it but yet I was the healthiest person in there. I saw homeless sick people in there with their minds as well as their bodies broken. One guy in a very bad state but at least he had his loving family around him fighting on his behalf, pushing for him with the staff who had so many other priorities. I also saw a few people who are obviously not going to leave there alive like I did and of course although I never saw him I certainly heard the guy who kept screaming for days on end. I have no idea if he was screaming from pain or from madness.

The whole experience almost made me cry. And of course I had hours on end to think about my own life and the way forward with the little bit I have left. And how I can help those who suffer. That is if I even want to help.

Something happened to me in there. Let me leave it that..............

Nothing wrong with that Mark. Sometimes we need a different outlook pointed out to us.

If Mark's personality starts changing, I for one will feel very cheated...which come to think of it would have made the old Mark very happy.

It is a simple routine (almost self working) designed for pitch purposes. However, I have recently added another phase for more normal performance. Very powerful but no final loads. Too much hassle and I don't need it. I have been getting just as much reaction at the end without it. Final loads are indeed a very powerful finish but you pay two prices for it. One is the obvious price that you have to carry more crap around with you but there is another price which I think has been ignored over the years. In order to get to the big strong finish you have to make the audience suffer with a lot of confusion and here, there, everywhere move crap in most cases. This can take up very valuable time and make the routine long and confusing. So you have to do the crap to get to the good bit for technical reasons. I have therefore decided to sacrifice the big loads for these two reasons.

I believe I have done the right thing. Maybe one day I will post the full routine with the extra stuff. The video above consists of only the pitch part.

Both personalities have always been there from the beginning. You just didn't realise it. It is just that one personality had a higher profile since in this harsh world it had to protect and in some cases over protect the other more vulnerable one.

To avoid confusion, can we name each version? How about Mark and Mick?

In the event that other versions of you surface, we can name them as well using other “M” names such as Mike...

In any event, I am so delighted that you listened to me and returned to the hospital! :D Us forum members are not ready to lose the poetic spice which accompanies your posts. ;)

Well, in Toronto they say - that the Mark's small heart grew three sizes that day. Which was a bad thing as Mark now suffers from an oversized heart...
