Re: Shin Lim
I'm happy that he won--his dexterity is amazing, and he seems like a nice guy. He's made my eyes bug out many times before.
However, to be honest, this left me cold:

Started out with some meaningful biographical magic, but then it was just more adventures of the props.
I'm not a hater or jealous, but I was hoping for more.
PS: I find it amusing that a burning piece of paper can get screams and catcalls at AGT.

Re: Shin Lim
I thought that was a beautiful piece of magic.
Funny, but this one is practically a self-worker:

Shin is a great guy and super talented. Of all his performances on AGT, though, the one linked above by Jack was my favorite.
Re: Shin Lim
I prefer him when he works silently. Jibber-Jabber is not his speciality.

Watched with my wife and daughter and we thought this piece (artistically) was one of his best.

Re: Shin Lim
Clearly, I'm in the minority here (which is cool). I just thought it was weird to go from: "I had bilateral CTS" to producing lots of Nine of Hearts with no closure of that presentational loop.
Re: Shin Lim
I make loads of nine of hearts appear too with the svengali deck! Oddly enough the nine of hearts is the standard key card with most decks that I use. And I produce just as many nine of hearts from nowhere as Shin Lim does! I will concede however that his version of the trick is a bit fancier than mine.
It is certainly a lot better than that bloody awful card trick with the four jacks with all the fake reactions. I could hardly keep awake watching it. It was even worse than that Card At Any Number thing that magicians rave about.
Having said all this I quite like Shin Lim. He has a very pleasant and modest personality which I am sure people like. And his superb magic (not the four jack trick) speaks for itself. And it is just as well the magic speaks for itself. The less he talks the better.
