Magic Castle Happenings – The Good Stuff (September 2018)

Postby Dustin Stinett » September 7th, 2018, 3:59 am

Castle Commerce

The annual swap meet takes place on Saturday, September 8. Non-AMA Members who are members of a recognized magic organization (bring your membership card) may enter at 9AM with an $8 entry fee.

We Will Kick off …

Monday Night Football returns to The Magic Castle on September 10 down in the Hat & Hare Pub. As there are two games, and one starts just after 4PM, the club will open at 4:00 so fans may go down to the festivities.

The MNF Kick-Off Party (and all subsequent MNF games) includes all-you-can-eat hot dogs, Castle chili, chips, and soft drinks for only $5 (one game) or $10 (for both games). Members and their guests are welcome. Age 21-plus as per usual. Pay the Hat & Hare bartender. Please arrive in the normal dress code; however, jerseys over shirt and tie are welcome in the Hat & Hare area during the games.

After this Monday, the remainder of the games are single games that start at 5:15PM PST, so the club will open at 5PM as usual.

HIKE!

Attention Ersatz Houdinis

They have become SO popular, that they sell out before they are even widely advertised. We are talking about Bill Ragsdale’s “Lock Picking for the Curious” Perks. We’d talk about the next two, on September 25 and 26—the fifth and sixth he has done—but they are sold out. Interested Members should keep an eye on the calendar on their Member Page on the AMA website for the next scheduled events.

Looking Toward Halloween Week

The Events Staff is gearing up for Halloween week 2018 (October 24 through 31). This year’s theme: “Murder Mansion.” Cadabra the Great has been murdered, and there are six suspects. Your job: solve the mystery. Members should check page 37 of the September newsletter for what details are available. Now is the time to make your reservations.
