Carisa Hendrix - Getting Uncomfortable

Postby Scott Wells » March 2nd, 2018, 6:44 pm

Carisa Hendrix was the subject of a big misunderstanding following her appearance on the cover of the July 2017 issue of VANISH Magazine. Some thought that it was (understandably) inappropriate for her to pose in a provocative manner as an under-aged teen. You see, the cover said "15 year overnight sensation" which was misunderstood to mean that she was 15 years old. If fact, Carisa was (and is) well into her 20's and the photo was totally appropriate as an homage to the movie poster for "American Beauty". Anyway, moving on...

Carisa has a world of experience that belies her years with a diverse background in circus/carnival arts, hula hoop and fire eating as well as the fine arts and modeling. She has recently won the prestigious Comedy Award at the 2017 Melbourne Magic Festival and "stormed it" (as the Brits say) with her performance as her alter ego "Lucy Darling" at the Magic Castle. This week, the Canadian magician talks on The Magic Word Podcast about her experience and gives tips to lady magicians, both young and old, as well as to us male magicians. She also encourages us to get out of our "comfort zone" and try new things and stretch our creativity. There is a lot to hear and learn from in this week's podcast.

You can watch a clip of her performance at The Magic Castle as well as a video of David Williamson (she talks about in the podcast), see some photos, read the blog and the poem from Charles Bukowski that inspires her daily, listen to the podcast online and download the MP3 file at: https://www.themagicwordpodcast.com/sco ... sa-hendrix
