Rachel Colombini

Postby Arnie Fuoco » February 22nd, 2018, 10:21 pm

I read on another forum that Rachel Colombini was at Blackpool. Supposed to have talked to Paul Gordon. Even had a photo of them together. I saw her name in Dustin's list of those who passed in 2017.

Anyone know what's going on

She's most definitely not dead. I spoke with several people who saw her, and I saw the photograph firsthand.

I'd sure like to know for sure.

Scott Wells based his report on news from the Ulster Magic Society. See the Genii Forum thread from last year here:

And then there is this that has a photo from Paul Gordon on it:

Sure looks like her. I just cannot verify when the photo was taken, and Paul was one of the people who said she had died!

I am sincerely sorry for my part in misreporting her death. I have never been so happy to have been so wrong.

I spent some time with Rachel - it's definitely her (she remembered some details from a conversation we had at one of Aldo's lectures years ago).

I, too, am very sorry for reporting her demise. But it was based on unrefuted testimony from those whom I thought should know best. I am so glad to read that she is “on the right side of the lawn.”

She did tell people that she's not well.

Re Rachel: I originally posted that she'd died because that's what I was told by a "reliable" source. But, she DID turn up at Blackpool and there's a pic of me with her at The Winter Gardens. We chatted for hours because I've known her for 30 years and Aldo for longer. She's not well and has had a VERY stressful few years. She wasn't hiding away at Blackpool and she chatted with lots of old friends. It was a heck of a surprise when she came up to me whilst I was demming...happy and sad all at the same time. Cheers, Paul Gordon
