Darren Ross who manages the Magic Castle property LLC for my wife's family was in the Mandalay Bay at the time of the horrific shooting. West was able to contact him while the hotel was still in lock down and he is safe. Everyone was rushing around when a good samaritan opened his room to guests for protection. Darren is still there as the hotel is still in lock down.

DC was performing at the time--glad he kept the audience locked down (and safe).

Lance B retweeted this if people wish to help the victims financially:

(This link has been spread in numerous media sources and is linked on the gofundme homepage. I can't personally vouch for it, of course, but it does seem legit)

Come on magicians, Las Vegas is our world capital, open your hearts and your wallets. Help those who experienced an unimaginable nightmare and are still in pain and will be for the foreseeable future.

Food for thought, respectfully offered:

One thing in a mass casualty traumatic incident we use a lot of (and don't always have enough of) is blood.

If you donate locally, your blood bank can still ship blood to Las Vegas if they need it. Even if your donation doesn't end up in Las Vegas, it can free up other units to be shipped or it can be used to save a life in your home community.

Donating blood may not be for everyone, but if you are able and willing, this would also be a great way to help out, IMHO.
