Seats are very limited but if you're near London at the end of August there' an opportunity to see some great magic in a small venue and even participate in the second annual Science of Magic (SOMA) conference.

We (Reel Time Images) will be filming there for our latest documentary. It's a project is on science and magic -- not on researchers using science to investigate magic but on something quite different. We are focusing on scientists who are using magic as an instrument to study human perception, consciousness, and behaviour -- everything from how we see (or don't see) the world, how we form our beliefs, to how we solve problems. A number of researchers we are filming are participating in the upcoming conference.

It’s an event that will draw researchers and magicians from across the world to at Goldsmiths’ College, University of London. The conference runs from August 31, to September 1. There will be an opening night show with an incredible line up of talent: Pit Hartling , Thomas Fraps (who is also one of the keynote speakers), Edward Hilsum, and Rob Bailey.

But now there’s been a surprise development! Juan Tamariz will not only be performing in that show, he’s a guest of honour at the event and will be closing the conference with… well that’s still to be announced.

Tickets are available for the entire conference or just the opening evening show. Seating is very limited so if you’re in the neighbourhood and want to be there book now thru their website. www.scienceofmagicassoc.org
