November Issue of Genii Now Live Online and in the Mail

Postby Richard Kaufman » October 18th, 2016, 9:42 pm

Sorry we're a little late this month. My trip to Japan was one cause, and I neglected to ask a few columnists to send in their videos before I left! Live and learn.
We are live now on your desktop, tablet, and phone with an issue containing 21 video and audio segments.
More tomorrow!

Delighted to read there is a new book on The Magic of Vanni Bossi by Stephen Minch.
Though it's not listed on the publisher's website yet - Penguin Magic.

Excited for the new columns, and... SUPER curious about the new book manuscript that you were showing off in More Genii Speaks. Any clues to share??

Loved Max's audio column.

And of course I'm intrigued by that giant manuscript that will become a subscriber bonus...

With 21 video/audio elements, could there be an index of the links all on one page, not unlike the table of contents or advertisers' index?

It would be really useful.

The company we used to host our digital issue doesn't offer a menu button that would allow you to see all the digital content. It would make sense, of course (and thus I agree with you), but considering what a small-circulation magazine we are in the scheme of the larger world, I'm pretty happy with all that we have been able to accomplish.

We're going to be moving the entire digital archive and new issues from a Flash-based system to an HTML-5 system soon. The difference in the speed is quite amazing. We've been testing for five months now.

*raises hand* I was one of the columnists that was late with the video -- sorry about that!
This is a great issue; I'm really excited to see what John G. does with Magicana after this great start. And stoked for the new columnists!

Mr. Prace was not the only one!
But it was reallly my trip to Japan that made the digital issue late.
