I didn't even know it was Christmas Day until I went outside and found everything closed! I thought it was December 24th!

I thought it was the first day of spring!

Anyway, I would imagine that so many Genii Forum members have their faces in Tenyoism that only a handful of us are coming here today and I don't blame them!

I hope you are having a most wonderful day everyone.

What did you see? My late brother and I would always go to the movies on Christmas afternoon, years ago.

It was a Merry Christmas at the Mullins house. Our eight year old walked into the living room and said "Awesome!" which is always what a parent wants to hear. He checked that the cookie plate was empty, that the carrots left out for the reindeer were gone, and started unwrapping. I managed to surprise my wife with a gift (we are at the age where we tell each other what we want, and then pretend surprise, so really catching her off guard was excellent). It rained 3" here today and we are under flood warnings so we didn't leave the house, but watched the George C. Scott version of "A Christmas Carol" (the best by far). Later on I'll read some more Tenyo and try and figure out how they work.

I hope all of you have as good a day as we are having. Merry Christmas to the entire Forum.

It was my first time going to a movie on Christmas Day. An odd experience.
We saw "Joy," the choice of my wife and daughter.

Somewhat muddled it was, but Jennifer Lawrence is quite a good actress. And this was the first time I've seen Bradley Cooper in something where I didn't want to punch him in the face.

And it's nice to see Robert DeNiro (between this and "The Intern") doing some decent work again.

My family used to like to go to movies on Christmas Day.

Did you go out for Chinese afterwards? (You need to do that to get the full experience! ;) )

The only restaurant open that I know of happens to be our local Chinese restaurant, so yes, we always eat there.

Perhaps this learned essay will make it all more clear:

Yes, the George C Scott version of A Christmas Carol is excellent.

This year the AJM's festive movie choice was Miracle on 34th Street.

Actually, a lot of Asians like to go to dim sum as well on Christmas. (Yum!)

I prefer the Alistair Sim version, though the one with George C Scott is excellent.

If it floats your boat, a few years ago my old colleague Mitch Benn recorded an audio book of A Christmas Carol, and it's still free.

Have a peek at https://mitchbenn.bandcamp.com/album/mi ... tmas-carol for more details and a download.
