Max Maven is okay

Postby observer » October 4th, 2015, 9:50 pm

Apparently Max Maven was stricken with appendicitis Thursday evening, whereupon he was taken to the hospital for an appendectomy, which was successful.

Like very many others, I am a great admirer of his knowledge of the art and his many contributions to it, most recently when by all accounts he pretty much saved the day this past FISM convention. Glad he came through all right!

My thanks to the many people who sent messages during my unexpected four-day stay in the hospital this past weekend. Not how I'd planned to experience Orlando... But although I'm still in the process of recovering, the worst is over, and I'm feeling better with every passing hour.

Sorry I was unable to present my theater show at the Genii Convention. I've told Richard that if there is another, I will definitely be there to do the full two-hour piece.

In the meantime, the header for this thread has just become my favorite one-line review ever: "Max Maven is okay." That's more enthusiasm than I've had from some real-world reviewers.

Proof positive that Max is in good fettle. Humour as sharp as ever. Keep smiling Max. :)

In honor of Max, I will no longer refer to an attachments in a contract as an "appendix." From now on, it will be a, "maxcessory."

Glad you're are A-OK, Max…and to extend a trope, when it comes to you and your work, it's less about the APPENDIX and much more about the CONTENTS, the INDEX, the ANNOTATIONS, and the subtle MARGINALIA.
Onward…and upward...

In this case, I hope his appendix was removed by a surgeon and not an editor.

Max is a pro. You know it has to be hurting for a performer like Max to cancel a date. I have known him for more than 30 years and his dedication to the art has few peers.

Actually it's quite an accomplishment. Max handled the whole appendix thing way better than Houdini did.

Get well my friend and if you need any help, let me know.

So. Why'd you let the kid punch you in the stomach?
