Re: "TV Magic is Dead," declares Dynamo
From that article "When people watch magic now, because of their cynicism, everyone wants to see it live. It’s all about giving people the opportunity to witness the magic in front of their faces." I think he's got it right.
Was hoping there'd be a "yeah and you killed it" response though.

from talking with people who worked with Dynamo on his special, he is incapable of replicating most
of the magic he features on TV in a live setting, no retakes.

That's hilarious.

The best comment I've seen on Facebook comes from Chris Piercy: "Regardless of the article, that is a desperately poor card spring."

Didn't Mind Games perform well? I haven't seen it, but the reviews I've read have been positive.

What a silly comment about the springing of the cards. That's entirely due to the second at which the photo was taken. If you have a problem with Dynamo's springing of the card, talk to the photographer!

The most relevant Facebook comment comes from Dwayne Andrew: "As a street performer, I love these shows, I have never seen one but they have definitely made me a lot if money."

Must be me, it usually is, but I thought the card spring comment was amusing.
In my experience, which is not vast, jokes are usually a little bit silly. And often don't make much sense if they're analysed.

I'm surprised that - in order to ensure getting a good photo - he didn't resort to using one of these ...

Yes, I would not have commented on the photo without seeing it.

I've met Dynamo, and like him. But his comment is a defensive one, to explain why he's moving from TV to the stage.
He has helped make magic in the UK a hot item, and for this he deserves our gratitude.
Remember, he's basically just a kid.

it seems he is blaming the public for his Inability to convey that his magic does not rely on camera tricks and stooges.
