On stage in Dan Sperry's Pocket!

Postby Magic Newswire » January 7th, 2015, 8:54 am

We just posted the latest edition of the MagicNewswire.com 's "Spirit of Magic" podcast.

Genii Magazine Associate Editor Dustin Stinett leads the way with his always amazing recaps of the previous year of magic news in review, but we are also joined by many special guests along the way. My cohosts are Chase Goforth, Cameron Ramsay, and David Kaye. Special Guests include Dan Sperry, Jonathan Pendragon, Mike Caveney, Tina Lennart and more. Happy new year everyone!

And yes, we were in Dan's pocket as he walked out on stage for the finale on the last day of the Broadway run of "The Illusionists!"

Enjoy!

Now I can never run for political office: Someone will put it together that I am in Dan Sperry's pocket.

That was fun, Dodd. Thanks for including me.

Happy New Year!

It was a blast to do and I plan on making time to do as many of them as often as I can. We had some great guests and it sounds like 2015 will be another great year!

Thanks Mr. Goat. Just over 3000 downloads so far and everyone seems to be enjoying it. Forgot to add a short piece that I recorded with Mat Franco about winning AGT but will have him on his own episode soon enough.

Thanks as always for the feedback

Was a lovely surprise yesterday to see the MNW is back. Listened twice already since last night - once last night and once to and from my day job.

Has to be one of the best magic things available and listened to the Sol Stone interview as well. What an interesting man and what a life. Listening to the reason why he got into magic by entertaining children in WW2 who had not smiled for a couple of years was extremely moving. It was a real joy. These podcasts are such a real treasure. Not to be underestimated because some of these amazing magicians will not be here forever but the stories will. Keep up the Good work whenever you can Dodd.

Thank you.
Best John

John

Thanks!

You are too kind

I love doing these interviews and am happy that it comes through to the listeners. Thank you again!

More to come! Is there anyone in particular that you would like to hear me interview?

This is an open question to anyone that enjoys the podcast, not just to John.

Whose story are you interested in hearing?

Thanks again to all of of those that take the time to download and listen to the podcast! It validates what I am doing and encourages me to do more! I look forward to your ongoing feedback!

Best
Dodd

Dodd,

I know David Regal's interview was lost due to a computer failure. Is there any plans for another try with David? I know he is busy with TV projects. As always, great job. Too bad David Kaye's internet connection failed during the last Magic Newswire show.

We will definitely have Mr Regal on again. I have located most of the raw material from that lost chat and plan to edit and post it soon! Thanks again for listening!

I love the Johnny Thompson podcasts especially sharing the stories of the past magicians like Dai Vernon and Charlie Miller and all the stories.

I would love to hear more from Pete Biro and any or all of the following are amazing :)
Peter Turner, Gaeton Bloom, Rune Klan, Charlie Fry, Ryan Schlutz, Siegfried and Roy, Greg Frewin, Jamie Grant, Paul Kieve, Gary Kurtz. Danny Daortiz, Max Maven, Stephen Mulhern, Andy Nyman, Derren Brown, Scott Penrose, Alan Watson, Topas.

I'm greedy :) thanks Dodd.

Doesn't sound greedy at all to me. It is a great list. Some are easier than others but they are all on my list as well. With our new and permanent association with the Conjuring Arts Research Center (http://conjuringarts.org/) I think that some amazing doors will be opened. Stay tuned!
