Postby Richard Kaufman » January 2nd, 2015, 10:02 pm

"Angel is ... the biggest name in the world of magic."

Then why isn't he on Broadway? "The Illusionists" are.

"angel works tirelessly to help children through his charitable foundation, "BeLIEve Anything is Possible, A JDS Foundation." The acclaimed magician has also garnered ..."

"When 100,000 people watched 'The King of Handcuffs' wriggle free while hanging from a building in 1916, a newspaper reported that this was “the biggest crowd ever assembled in Washington at one place except for the inauguration of the President.”

Houdini was hugely famous around the world. The level of his fame at a time when there was no TV or Internet is quite amazing. He was also a pioneer.

Dancer and choreographer Alex Cole performed for 75,000 attendees and 81 million TV viewers as "rock magician" Elvis Presto at Super Bowl 23 in 1989.

Of course, most of those watching were actually going to he bathroom or getting a beer, so who know how many actually saw him.
