Anyone else get the email from the folks at Real Secrets today about "Everyday Wonders"?

I'd be interested in hearing more detail than is in the email.

Bill, in case you hadn't already guessed from Real Secrets, they're not big on giving details!

I received the email today also. Would be nice to know at least who is releasing them. From the description in the email, they could be very nice, and then again they could be something less. Hard to tell based on info provided.

Plus, the exclusivity is temporary, as the effects, per the email, will be offered to the magic community sometime next year. More info or perhaps a video or two would be appreciated.

Re: The Real Secrets Team Returns with Something New
It says both that the exclusive is temporary, and also that it will be sold to Real Secrets members until some particular date "if supplies last" or something like that. I would think it should be one or the other.

Re: The Real Secrets Team Returns with Something New
I did not find the announcement confusing. It explains that there is a specific end date for the special offer, and that the offer may be over prior to that end date if they sell-out.
Seems that people try to make things more difficult and confusing than they are, just to have something to talk about.
Life is not difficult, people are.

I did not find the email confusing - I was reiterating the fact that the exclusivity was only temporary, and as a RS subscriber, would have hoped the offer wasn't offered to non-RS members. As RK stated, either offer it only to RS members or to anyone.
I agree: People are difficult, which makes life difficult, too.

Just received from RS:
"The team at Real Secrets would like to thank you for your overwhelming response to the Everyday Wonders preview release. As of this morning, our first supply of the Everyday Wonders sets #1, 2 and 3 are sold-out. We will be manufacturing more of each of the items. We anticipate the materials for the new sets will be available before the end of January and we and will notify RS members."

Mr. Kaufman,
I assume you are a Real Secrets subscriber, as one, why do you feel compelled to post emails and information that is sent to members? I am assuming that only members received it. Did they ask you to post this on your forum?

Re: The Real Secrets Team Returns with Something New
No one asked me to post it. We have many Real Secrets members who read The Genii Forum, and sometimes emails go astray or end up in the junk mail folder. That's why I post the information here. And RS members can also discuss it here.
We allowed Real Secrets to have a pizza party during the dinner hour at the first Genii convention and 100 members must have showed up! That was pretty surprising.

To answer bibliophage's question and to amplify Richard's comment: I'm also a member of Real Secrets and the email they had on file was linked to a previous real-world job email account that no longer exists. I wouldn't have known about this new release from the RS team if it hadn't been for Richard mentioning it. I sent off an email and RS have updated my email so I'll receive any further communications from them.
So, many thanks to the head Genii for the heads-up!
Jeremy

People are really not all that difficult. Or, at least... not all people.
Re: The Real Secrets Team Returns with Something New
Wow! Just got my envelope and discovering the wonders... It's Real Secrets on steroids! I ordered all 3 and it feels like I got one year's worth of Real Secrets all at once. So happy...

Re: The Real Secrets Team Returns with Something New
I also received the first "3" which actually contain about 10 tricks.
Each "set" comes in a mylar envelope which contains a nicely-designed booklet with illustrated instructions for the three or four tricks included. The props are contained in a smaller mylar envelope.
The first set of releases are clearly labelled "1, 2, and 3."
The cost, in the end, is not hugely different than Real Secrets (a little less). If you read the credits almost every trick (in the final incarnation that you are purchasing) has been created by Tim Trono and Michael Weber. Writing that should not be a problem since there is no secrecy business involved with Everyday Wonders. (Though there is a performance rights statement inside each booklet similar to the one which appears in Life Savers.)
If you're a fan of Michael Weber's work and the material sold by Real Secrets, you should enjoy this.

At the time of this writing, Sets 2 and 3 for sale here: http://www.ebay.com/sch/diddy-dvd/m.htm ... 7675.l2562
(Disclaimer: I have nothing to do with the sale, and I don't know the seller, so I can't vouch for them).

Good catch. Gives a reasonably good idea of what the product actually contains.
Everyday Wonders - 3 volume set from Real Secrets, as sold by Michael Weber
includes -
A Token Wish - Wishing coins routine, where a coin vanishes in the spectators hand
Charge Card - You show the battery on your smartphone is getting low and showing red, using a credit card sized phone charger, you put it on your phone and then after a moment it shows full charge
Kit Kat - optical illusion where you visibly transform a picture showing 1 kit kat into two
Everyday Wonders - 3 volume set from Real Secrets, as sold by Michael Weber
includes -
Smart Gum - Use gum wrappers to show that chewing gum increases your intelligence, you take the gum out of the wrapper and then using the numbers on the wrapper prove that you can now instantly add four random numbers together.
Borders - Correct divine a randomly selected word in any book
To Pay - Ask a friend to get out a stack of bills/notes and play a game of "she loves me, loves me not" to see who will pay for lunch - not matter how many bills they start with they will always end up paying.

Re: The Real Secrets Team Returns with Something New
I wonder what it means that the seller has them up with Buy It Now for retail price and no one has bought them.

Re: The Real Secrets Team Returns with Something New
It may mean that the seller does not understand how ebay works.
Also found it interesting that they chose to keep EW One and sell the other two.
Lots of things are interesting and we don't know what they mean.

Or maybe number one is the first which have been sold ?
