Maybe you're right, Ted. But I've heard Max pull arcane precedents out of thin air so many times that I've started to believe just about anything is possible. In any event, if you do a google image search of "distance illusion", you'll get a pretty broad collection of images stretching back a long, long time.

Sadly, and this is almost always true, if anyone wants to know how the trick is done all they have to do is read the comments on YouTube.

And while $550 might be a lot for a single book, the total amount of profit that Mr Philpott can realize, even if he sells them all, is fairly small - only $20,000 to $30,000 or so. Enough to live on for a couple months, then back to work.
