My partner in publishing for decades in Kaufman and Greenberg, Alan Greenberg, died today at age 86 of cancer. He had been ill for the past year, however I spoke to him while he was at his desk at JP Morgan just a few weeks ago. He was an excellent magician and a generous guy.

Re: Alan Greenberg Has Died
Sorry to hear about this Richard. My condolences to you, his family, and many friends.
Re: Alan Greenberg Has Died
I'm sure you must have been very close to him, Richard, so my condolences to you. I for one would be very interested in hearing more about your partnership with Mr. Greenberg, how it evolved, how involved he was, etc. I'm in the financial industry myself, and have always been intrigued by the man and his history with Bear Stearns.

Re: Alan Greenberg Has Died
I'm really sorry to hear this news. Ace was very supportive of me, coming to one of my very first public shows in New York. He helped introduce me to many of his pals who later became clients.
Every six months or so, Ace hosted "magic dinners" at his amazing Fifth Avenue apartment. Regular members included Bill Kalush, David Blaine, David Roth, Meir Yedid, Eric DeCamps, Michael Rubinstein, Mark Mitton, Michael Chaut, Ted Greenberg, Joshua Jay, the late Herb Zarrow, Jerry Waye, Simon Lovell, Jerry Deutsche and myself.
I thought that these dinners were so unique that I introduced Ace to a writer I know at Forbes magazine. That introduction facilitated the following article to get published in the magazine back in 2006:

Ace's 80th birthday party was an event of massive scale, held at the Harmonie Club in NYC. Attendees included Mayor Michael Bloomberg, NYPD Chief of Police Ray Kelly, Anderson Cooper and Donald Trump.
I love Ace. Many people did. I'm extremely sorry to hear this news.

Very sorry to hear this. Ace was known to his frienda as a serious magician who could perform all the effects in "Stars of Magic."

Fox Business News Channel just did a nice segment on Ace with Charlie Gasparino. They even mentioned him doing magic.

Re: Alan Greenberg Has Died
A report from his funeral today. 2,000 people attended and there was a broken-wand ceremony (a request Alan made before his death):
