I had a friend who looked like Daryl Hall, and when we used to go into my local bar, the young ladies would often star at us, wondering, and thinking, "No, it can't be." And it wasn't.

That reminds me of the time years ago when I had a strolling gig at an event held at a very upscale hotel in Manhattan. When I walked into the lobby, I was greeted by numerous girls, screaming and tearing at their hair. And if you don't believe me, you can ask Paul McCartney - he was right behind me.

In the early 70's, I was in Phoenix and called Danny Dew to ask if he had any Paul Fox copper cups made up. He did. I asked if I could come get them and he told me that he and Melba and their guests, Ross Bertram, and his wife were just leaving for dinner. I still can't believe that I was that close to meeting Mr. Bertram but didn't. "Send me $18," Danny said. So I did, and received my Paul Fox cups, postage included. The cups look as good today as they did then. I wish I had saved the cancelled check.

Busby held the Fox cups were bigger. Howard was supporting the Bertram product. The discussion began to deteriorate...

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Jeff-Busby-July ... Sw1BlZXnFh , the July, 1979 "Progress Report" from Busby-Corin, Inc. indicates that Busby actually sold the Bertram cups as well, so I would have thought he would have realized the Bertram cups were bigger before Mr. Lyons reeled him in.

Busby didn't start selling the PF line of cups until 1982 or 83 so he probably didn't have a PF/DD set of cups in 1979. When he sold the Bertram cups in 1979, there may not have been a PF/DD set handy in his collection to compare sizes. Or he had a PF/DD set and never bothered to compare cup sizes. In 1985 Busby probably no longer had any Bertram cups left in his inventory and was caught off guard by Lyons.

I do not own a set of cups, but if you want to know which of two cups is bigger, you can fill one with water and pour the water into the other. You will have your answer immediately.
