Re: New FFFF Book By H&R
Anyone know if this is reprinting the material from the two "Fork Full of Appetizers" books that Obie and Bill Miesel put out in the 80's? Is it this material, but updated? New material? Richard (Hatch) - can you let me know some more info?

Hi Rob, this is new material, not a reprint of the earlier books. Alas, since I moved to Utah over a year ago I no longer have a direct interest in "H & R" so can't give you the details, but I'll ask Marshall Petersen, the new owner of the bookselling concern and Charlie Randall, the owner of the publishing enterprise, to post additional information here, since I have not yet seen the book. A recent MUM did have an excerpt from it

News to me. So... what's the H in H&R stand for now?

It's the name of an established company that was purchased by Marshall Peterson.

KFC doesn't stand for "Kentucky Fried Chicken" any longer, either.

Didn't "L&L" stand for "Louis and Larry" (or the reverse) but Larry Jennings dropped out of the picture fairly early?

Yes, that's what L&L originally meant. And how did I know that the new book wasn't a reprint? I could have sworn I read that somewhere (I don't get MUM anymore). Did Charlie tell me about it at the History Conference maybe? Hmmm... Anyway, I think it's going to be a great book!

I think I've seen Richard Hatch working the H&R booth at conventions more often lately than when he was half the company.

And you'll see him at the H&R booth at the Genii 75th Birthday Bash in October as well.

Thanks Richard. I did know that you weren't directly involved in H&R any more. I've been buying books from H&R for almost 15 years and have spoken to Marshall a few times via e-mail. I just knew that you were here on the board and I couldn't recall seeing Marshall or Charlie here. I'll definitely get my order in if it's all new material.

Hey guys,
I have adopted the ampersand in H & R as my part of the business name. "&" is actually translated as "the artist formally known as Marshall."
Marshall
P.S. - I am working on getting the table of contents and will post as soon as I hear something.
