Magic -- Page by Page

Postby Matthew Field » September 15th, 2011, 6:03 am

This is an update on the big Patrick Page book I've been working on for more than four years, "Magic -- Page by Page."

I'm now doing the final proofing of the book, which is 95% finished. The design is by the very talented Michael Albright, who also designs Magicol magazine and did the "Vernon Touch" and "Revelation" books, among others.

The material in the book was written by the late Patrick Page as his magnum opus. There are more than 150 items including chapters on the Stacked Deck, Topit, Miser's Dream, comedy magic and many dealer items of Pat's explained. There are hundreds of photos and illustrations.

I was the book's editor. The volume will e 9 x 12 ins., hard cover, about 325 pages.

We hope the book will be ready for sale at the International Convention in London in November.

It will be available from Pat's website, which is run by his children (and which, by the way, features many of his effects for purchase and lots of photos to enjoy). It's www.PatrickPageMagic.com and I highly recommend it.

I hope the finished product does justice to the magical genius of Patrick Page.

Hi, I am Janette Page. We have been selling my dad's new "Magic Page by Page" book since 1st December 2011 on www.patrickpagemagic.co.uk. See the early reviews of the book on the website.

We have been overwhelmed by the number of sales. Cost to ship to the USA is 65 (approx US$ 102).
We are shipping the next working day.

Thanks to everyone who has bought the book already and has said such nice things about my dad.

My dad loved America and enjoyed all of the many visits that he made to the US.
Best wishes
Janette Page

I saw a copy of the book as it passed through the Genii office on its way to Jamy Swiss for review. A very large and beautiful book, and the contents speak for themselves. Highly recommended!

Richard,
Thanks for your kind comments about the Magic Page by Page book.

We look forward to Jamy Swiss's review.

Just to make clear that the cost of 65 (approx US $ 102) is the price of the book inclusive of the cost of posting it to the USA.

This really is a superb book and in my 'Top Ten' published conjuring books, ever. An absolute pleasure to read and study from. You can almost hear Pat talking as you read! Now, that's real Magic.

What a wonderful job by all involved and a true testament to Pat's great thinking. Thank you.

I'd also highly recommend his lecture DVD, 'The Pageboy Speaks' (Filmed in Pennsylvania in 2001), as a great companion to the book. See him perform his 'Do As I Do' It's pure magic and really solid entertainment, Superb!

My copies just arrived. Looking forward to reading them - sad the corners got so badly bumped. I hate buying books through the mail.
