I've heard that one of the goals is try try and kill off sites like ellusionist, theory11, and Forums like this one, the Magic Cafe, and so on--by building all of these features into one Criss Angel mega-site backed by millions in financing.

Wouldn't that be kind of silly as those communities , much like this one, are supported by magicians.
I don't see how he could be that delusional to even say something like "...let's make only one place to discuss magic."
It shows to me that he is totally out of touch with magicians and the magic community as a whole.

David Copperfield is doing things right especially when you see things like what he did for the EMC this weekend as well as other smaller things he does each day.

Lance Burton also contributes to various places in his retirement and even comments about things on Facebook.

Part of what I like about the various communities on the net the wide range of ideas you get exposed to and the sharing of various ideas you otherwise would not be exposed to if there was only one place to share them.

Wow, I must have had to get that off my chest.

Well, I don't see anything there for us Houdini freaks. But this could be interesting. Thanks for the link, Richard. I hadn't heard anything about this.

With a record of alienating many people he has worked with, how long could this empire last?

On a funny note, working a series of venues in the northeast. One of the people told me he had just seen angel in Vegas (6 months ago). Said the audience was boo-ing him at the end. Tried to do his finale and it failed. Tried again and it failed. Ended up just dismissing the audience with a voice over as they were boo-ing.

Perhaps he should conquer his own show before he tries to conquer the world of magic.

Megalomania with delusions of grandeur.
The man's handlers should contact his physician and get the dosage of his Thorazine suppositories increased.
