Wish I could be there. I believe this will be the first time a play written by Steinmeyer will be staged.

Very cool! I would love to be able to see this. I trust you'll provide us with a detailed review, John?

Genii will probably write something on it. Unfortunately I cannot go and see it.

Well, I thought The Card Trick was fantastic. I'll have a little something about it up on my blog today or tomorrow (and I might try and catch it again tonight). One question for those who have seen it -- what exactly was Derek Hughes' involvement? He wasn't on stage. Did he engineer Houdini's card trick maybe? Just a little confused.

I saw the show last night (Friday) and Derek opened and closed with a short set of magic. Was he not part of the benefit performances? I thought it was a great show.

Not the one I saw (the 8pm show on Thursday).

The Thursday shows were a fundraiser for the Vernon Fund, and we got the play with commentary and discussion by Jim Steinmeyer before and after the performance.

The Friday and Saturday shows (yes, you can catch it tonight!) are typical weekend Peller Project presentations, consisting of two "acts" - one being "The Card Trick" and the other Derek Hughes.

I caught the discussion-with-Jim-Steinmeyer version, but Derek certainly seemed to be wowing the audiences last night!

Lisa, do you know what time(s) the show is tonight? I want to try and catch it again, but I want to get there nice and early so I can get a front row seat.

Yes - the play will go at the usual Peller times: 8:30, 10:00 and 11:15.

People who have dined will have a ticket (which they can use for either the Peller or the Palace), and then the host will seat from the stand-by line.

Cool. Thanks, Lisa. I'll shoot for that 8:30 show. Maybe I'll see you up there. :)

I saw the play last performance, last night. It was wonderful. The cast was terrific, the play was terrific. The card trick that Houdini performs in it is GREAT! Jim Steinmeyer really is a genius.

The Friday and Saturday audiences were entirely the wrong audiences for this charming and beautifully performed play.
The drunks loved it in spite of themselves.
BURSKY saw a PLAY?

I can imagine Bursky sitting in the audience for a play, but I can't imagine him sitting quietly for more than 30 seconds.

I was in the show that Bursky saw and I can report that he was a complete gentlemen throughout. It may have helped that it was only a one-act.
